Scholarships and Grants

Scholarships are study grants that may cover 100% of tuition fees and other school fees to deserving students.

Scholarship Committee Coordinator/Scholarship Coordinator.  A Scholarship Committee shall be constituted by all program chairpersons with the Dean, Registrar, Accountant /Cashier as additional members; they shall meet to act on applications for scholarship to be recommended to the School President for approval.

Scholarship Coordinator shall be designated to attend to the details of the scholarship matters and be liaison between DepEd /CHED and NSC on matters concerning scholarship.

Guidelines for CHED Scholarships. Every year, CHED determines the number of partial and full scholarships that will be made available to incoming freshmen.  The selection process for scholars is quite competitive.  To qualify for a scholarship, you must meet certain minimum requirements.  Candidates are interviewed and then ranked according to academic performance and the interview results.  From among these candidates.  The scholars are chosen according to their rank and the number of scholarships available for the year. The following scholarships and other privileges are offered to deserving students:

1. Entrance Scholarships for entering freshmen in high school or college.

a. Elementary/High School Class Valedictorian.–This offers free tuition fees for the first year in high school and one semester in first year college  which grant can  be extended to succeeding  year/ semester if grantee can maintains a general weighted average of “1.5 “    in college and  First Honor of year level in high school.

  1. Elementary/High School Salutatorian – 50% free tuition fees for the first year in high school/college which grant can be extended to succeeding year / semester if grantee can maintain a general weighted average grade of “1.75” in college or  Second Honor in  high school.

     c.  Elementary/High School Graduates Ranked “Top 10” in their Graduating Class are    

granted 25% tuition/matriculation fee discount for the first semester of high school and college.

2. Sibling Privilege. One of four siblings enrolled in NSC enjoy a 100% free tuition/while one of  three siblings enjoy 50 % free tuition

3. High School Educational Service Contracting (ESC).  This is a government subsidy per year for deserving incoming high school freshmen which continues until grantee reaches grade 10 in  junior high school.

4. Privilege of Children of Permanent NSC Employees. Children of NSC employees/teacher holding permanent status of employment    in NSC enjoy 100% free tuition.

5. Board of Trustees   NSC Full and Partial College Scholarships.  Full and partial tuition fee privilege for poor but deserving college students. who meet the following requirements as determined by the Scholarship Coordinator.

  • A cumulative General Weighted Average (GWA) OF 1.5, evaluated at the end of the school year. 
  • A passing grade in all enrolled academic and non-academic subjects; maintains a continuous regular load (21 academic units) each semester.
  • A clean disciplinary record. 
  • Does not avail of any merit scholarship from any other source.

Any student who meets the above requirements shall apply for full or partial scholarship to the Program Chairman or Dean, who shall refer this application to the Scholarship Coordinator with his recommendation for proper action.

6. Melvin Mangada Scholarship. Full or partial scholarship  for poor but deserving high school or post  secondary students with clean disciplinary record.
